SoundCheck on macOS Big Sur & Monterey

SoundCheck 19 was developed and validated on macOS Catalina. It can be installed and ran on macOS Big Sur and Monterey by making the following adjustments:


Before installing SoundCheck, it is recommended to disable System Integrity Protection to make sure all components are fully installed. To do so, follow the instructions in the Apple article below:

Disabling and Enabling System Integrity Protection

SIP will need to remain disabled to run SoundCheck.


After installation, it is also required to run the following two commands in terminal to allow the operating system load and execute some specific extensions:

defaults write NSGraphicsContextAllowOverRestore -bool YES
defaults write NSViewAllowsRootLayerBacking -bool NO
